Old polaroids

After cleaning up my work space and going through old disks, I found a project that I had kind of forgot about.

In April of 2004, my friend (AJ Schepers) and I did a Polaroid project that was published in Calgary's FFWD Weekly for 13 weeks.  The project:  we each had an instant Polaroid camera and for 13 hours we shot.  Shot everything and anything.  We then paired up 2 images (one from each of us) for 13 sets.  The following is the description that I had sent to FFWD.

"so..the whole basis of this little experiment was to see what the hell would happen.  Simple as that.  2 people, 13 polaroids, a Polaroid each for each hour - and this is what happened.  Started off simple, a bit uncomfortable, got a bit tired and uninspired, and along the way some nice things transpired.  Two people stuck together in a relationship based on a little camera we like to call a Polaroid."

I will share a few of the Polaroids here and there.  Hope you enjoy them.

Wood postcards!

So the other day at work, a co-worker came up to me and said "I saw something in Toronto and had to buy it for you"  (oh my!!, I thought).

Out he pulls was a set of wood postcards + business cards.  OH MY!

Thanks to my obsession with wood, people get me the coolest stuff!

The post card is from Night Owl Paper Goods, and after checking out there site, I have a new favorite shop bookmarked.

Best thing about the shop...they do custom birch postcards!!!  I think I perhaps found my new promo idea!

Thanks Timothy!!!

And thank you thank you to Ali + Leif, who are the most gracious hosts who feed you the best coconut yogurt one could imagine.  xo

Black Friday...pfft.

Forget Black Friday...it's Bunny Friday!

I found this odd little game during a walk down Main St. in Vancouver.  Still kicking myself for not buying it.

Have a lovely weekend!

I did that.

It is always nice to see the work you did being used commercially.

This product shot was used for (obviously) the MacKenzie Art Gallery Members' Sale.  Sorry if you missed the sale.  Still tons of great product in the shop though.

Stay tuned for some more photos in action!

I'm shopping handmade

I have decided to buy as many local/handmade presents this holiday season as I possibly can.  There is so much great stuff out there and I don't have to go into some crazy mall to get it...so I figure why the hell not!  And after a few hours on Etsy this weekend, I certainly found some jems.  Below are a few of my favorite sellers...

Lola's Room Photography - gorgeous moody pastel-y...lovely

Sparrow Salvage - I just want to touch everything

Sea Unicorn - amazing (!!!) jewelry

CrArt - so pretty from Helsinki

Blue Nostalgia - name says it all

Paloma's Nest - perfect wedding presents

Alicia Bock Photography - I have a few of her pieces and I couldn't be more in love with them

Lottie Da Designs - makes me want to get married just so I can wear something pretty in my hair

She Hit Pause Studios - sexy sexy Polaroid transfers

Tall Buildings - super power fun!!!

The Intuitive Garden - swoon

And of course to be my own marketing/advertising/promotional/rep/bill payer/bunny food supplier...

I have to say: You want to buy some photography?

Buy mine!

You can check out what is in my shop here.  I even have gift certificates!
